One crew, from the dirt work to the concrete

Our landscapers and our concrete team work for the same family company. The person who plans your yard talks to the people who build it, so there's no handoff between companies halfway through.

What areas does Xander Landscaping serve?

Aurora, Parker, Centennial and the rest of the Denver metro. We work on homes and on commercial, retail and multifamily properties.

When should I stop mowing my lawn in the fall?

Stop when the grass stops growing on its own. In Colorado that point moves from year to year with the weather and the season before it, so watch the lawn rather than the calendar.

What is xeriscape?

Xeriscape is landscaping designed to use very little water, built around plants that handle Colorado's semi-arid climate. The word was coined around 1981 from the Greek xeros, meaning dry. It follows seven principles: planning and design, soil improvement, efficient irrigation, plant zones, mulch, turf alternatives and maintenance.

Is xeriscaping expensive?

It costs less to keep up, because it cuts watering, mowing, aerating and fertilizing. The install can cost more than a standard yard because it takes more labor and material. Many owners convert one section at a time or use rebates offered by local water utilities and cities.

Does a new sprinkler system need a permit?

Many cities around Denver require a permit and a final inspection for a new irrigation system. When yours does, we handle the permit and get the system inspected and approved.

Is artificial turf worth it?

Turf is a one-time purchase that ends watering, mowing and fertilizing. It is built to take constant foot traffic and Colorado weather, and we lay it over a leveled base so it stays flat.
